Getting paid

The pay link is already in the invoice.

Card or bank transfer, from the email your customer already has. You are not standing in the middle of it, which is why it gets paid faster than a PDF and a phone call.

What it costs, all in

Bank transfer is the whole argument on a big job

Processing is Stripe's published rate, read 2026-09-08. You pay that anywhere you take a card. Our 0.75% is identical on both rails, so every difference below belongs to the card network.

PaymentCard, all inBank, all inBank saves you
$400.00$14.90$6.20$8.70
$1,200.00$44.10$14.00$30.10
$2,400.00$87.90$23.00$64.90
$10,000.00$365.30$80.00$285.30
$40,000.00$1,410.30$255.00$1,155.30

Which is why bank transfer is listed first at your customer's checkout. It takes a few business days to land instead of minutes, and on a four thousand dollar job that trade is usually worth making. You can see what every payment cost you, itemised, on the invoice.

Deposits

Collected when they approve, not when you remember

A deposit is due at the moment your customer says yes, while they are still looking at the screen. The alternative is not a card payment later. It is chasing a check.

The final invoice is the quote minus the deposit to the cent, so the two always add up to the job and neither is an independent guess at a share.

  • Your default percentage, overridable per quote
  • Zero on a quote means no deposit on that one
  • Deposit and final invoices, each numbered
  • The two always sum to the job total exactly

Chasing

Overdue reminders that go out without you

At one, seven and fourteen days, each carrying the pay link again. One per milestone, ever, so nobody gets the same nudge twice and nothing fires at a customer who has already paid.

You can also write one yourself. Marquee drafts it in your own voice and you approve it before it sends, and it will not invent a figure that is not on the document.

  • One reminder per milestone, never repeated
  • Stops the moment the invoice is settled
  • A hand written follow up, drafted then approved
  • Turn the automatic ones off entirely if you want

Refunds

Full or partial, and our fee comes back with it

Refund from the invoice screen and our share is returned in proportion. A fully refunded invoice reads as refunded and stops being chased, which sounds obvious and is the kind of thing that is wrong in a lot of software.

  • Full and partial refunds
  • Our fee returned in proportion, automatically
  • A refund never reopens a debt you already settled
  • Refunds taken in Stripe directly still reach the invoice
